The Beta 2 UAC experience was somewhat annoying, but the current interim's experience was able to actually top the user aggravation c'mere (my definition of UAC):

UAC prompts appear as minimized dialog boxes! Guys, get your act together.

And seriously - just TELL me that the average offfice worker/home user isn't just going to keep clicking on all of those popups until they can get back to either getting work done, or installing the 'killer' browser add-on that lets them see sports scores (and lets spyware fiends to see their keystrokes).

I think security popups are about as effective as interuption marketing - people just tune them out without paying them any heed. NOT something you want with a security dialog.
